Timothy M. Whitney, CFP®
Tim is a Raleigh native and began his career with Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, in 2003. He is a Managing Director - Investment Office, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Senior PIM (Private Investment Management) Portfolio Manager. Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and studied at Nagoya University in Japan. Tim’s vision for the group is a comprehensive investment plan for each client, estate planning strategies as well as custom portfolio management of assets. He presently sits on the WakeMed Foundation Board of Directors and Finance Committee. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He is married to his college sweetheart, Kate, and has four children: Joe, Ben, Ryan and Eleanor. Tim spends free time with his family, competing in obstacle course races and traveling. He is an active member of the F3 Nation and holds a minority interest in the Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Club.
Stephanie Williams, Financial Consultant
Stephanie began her career as a financial advisor with Smith Barney in 2004 before joining Wells Fargo Advisors. She joined The Whitney Group in 2015 as a Registered Client Associate. Stephanie obtained her Business Finance degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 and later earned her Masters of Business Administration from Elon University in 2011. She holds her Series 7 and Series 66 registrations. Stephanie resides in Raleigh with her husband Britton and their two sons, James and Rankin. They enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors. Stephanie is an avid reader and a hot yoga enthusiast.
Tracey Nobles, Senior Registered Client Associate
Tracey is a veteran of the financial services industry having begun her career with Wheat First Butcher Singer in 1996, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. She joined The Whitney Group of Wells Fargo Advisors in 2001. Tracey is a Series 7, 63, and 65 FINRA Registered Representative and has been honored as a Wells Fargo Advisors Premier Client Associate since 2010, a distinction held by a select group of Registered Client Associates within Wells Fargo Advisors nominated by their management for their consistent display of professionalism, integrity, and core leadership values. As the main point of contact for the team, she has developed many relationships over the years. As a senior member of the team, Tracey works closely with individuals and families to clearly understand their unique situations and to offer actionable and achievable strategies to meet their financial needs.
Stephen Ross, Financial Advisor
Steve began his career in 1981 with Bache, Halsey, Stewart and Shields, which was acquired by and became Prudential Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, in 1982. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1992 and managed the Merrill Lynch office in Burlington, NC. He joined Wells Fargo Advisors in Burlington in 2010 where he also resides with his wife and has lived for most of his life. Steve graduated from Elon University and attended graduate school at NC State University in the MPA program with further studies in Economics. In addition to his 37 years of industry experience, Steve also has a strong passion for public service. In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, their four daughters and spouses, and seven grandchildren. When time permits, you will often find Steve relaxing at the family’s place on Bald Head Island.
